Free Flu Shots

Come to the Cary Senior Center on Wednesday, October 2nd to Classroom 302 for your flu shot. Registration is required either by phone or in person. Bring in your Medicare card for your shot, and if you have any questions make sure you call ahead of time. This service is provided by Maxim HealthCare and happens TOMORROW ONLY from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm.

Fall Line Dancing Party

Come on out to the Cary Senior Center in Cary on Friday, October 4th for a Line Dance Party! Registration is required though so make sure you secure your spot today. The cost is $10 per person. There will be music played from yesterday and today, along with dancing and hors d’oeuvres. The fun starts at 6:30 pm. Hope to see you there!

NC Symphony’s Classical Mystery Tour

459  The North Carolina Symphony is back for another astounding performance of hits by the Beatles at Koka Booth Ampitheatre. The event celebrates the 45th anniversary of the release of the Beatles’ White Album. Guest conductor Martin Herman will lead the symphony and its guests through time with renditions of “Penny Lane,” “I Am The Walrus,” “Eleanor Rigby,” “Yesterday,” and more!

Gates open for the event at 5 PM on Saturday, June 8, 2013. The show begins at 7:30.

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online here. For a sheltered seat, the charge is $35 and for a lawn seat, the charge is $33. All prices will increase by $2 on the day of the event. Children under 12 are admitted to the show for free. The venue allows lawn chairs, blankets, rain coats, cameras, and food/drink, but please refrain from packing umbrellas in the chance of rain. Pets and weapons also prohibited.

Seniors Yard Sale

yard-sale    It’s that time of year again for the annual Yard Sale hosted at the Cary Senior Center in Bond Park in Cary, North Carolina. The event will take place on Saturday, June 15, 2013 from 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Collections will be held at the center June 13 & 14 from 9 AM to 5 PM. Proceeds benefit the Cary Senior Center in funding activities as well as senior clubs. The event is cash-only. In order to volunteer at this event or obtain more information, please call (919) 469-4081 and ask for Jody Jameson, the Center Supervisor. Contribute and donate to the Senior Center and help benefit Cary’s number one source for seniors.

The Cary Senior Center is located at 120 Maury O’Dell Place inside Fred G. Bond Metro Park on High House Road, across the street from St. Michael’s The Archangel Catholic Church.

NC Triangle Area Chinese Singers Club

Launched in Spring 2008 by Xiaojuan Wang, the RTP Chinese Singers Club has grown to 5 professional and 30 amateur singers. They have become a very active group in the research triangle area, attracting much attention and participation from Chinese friends. They will be at the Cary Senior Center on Saturday, February 2nd and again on April 6th from 2 pm until 4 pm. Come out to meet and hear this amazing group of performers.

Battle of the Cattle

Helen Seebold is seen pictured with her art, part of Cow Parade NC, named Night-N-Day (aka Nadia). Night-N-Day will be auctioned to benefit UNC Children’s Hospital on February 2nd. The “Battle for the Cattle” tickets are on sale now and the auction will be held at the Raleigh Memorial Auditorium in the Progress Energy Center in Downtown Raleigh. You can purchase your ticket now through a link on the website featured here.

Seebold is an established artist in Cary, NC. Her studio, Little Flower Art, holds work that has been shown all over from New York to Connecticut to our own Raleigh, NC. Check out her exhibit 101 Masks at 108 Morris Street in Durham, NC.
